Materials:
• Himalaya Dolphin Baby yarn (100% polyester, 120 m/100 g) or YarnArt Dolce (100% micro polyester, 120 m/100 g)
• 5.00 mm crochet hook
• Black half beads for eyes
• Fabric glue
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Fiberfil
Abbreviations:
R – row
ch – chain
st – stitch
sl st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
inc – increase (2 sc in one stitch)
dec – decrease (2 sc together)
BLO – back loop only
[…] – number of stitches you should have at the end of the row
(…) – repeat whatever is between the brackets the given number of times
AMIGURUMI BABY ELEPHANT FREE PATTERN
Head, body and legs (one piece)
We start crocheting from the head in grey:
R 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]
R 2: (inc) repeat 6 times [12]
R 3: (1 sc, inc) repeat 6 times [18]
R 4: (2 sc, inc) repeat 6 times [24]
R 5: (3 sc, inc) repeat 6 times [30]
R 6-9: 30 sc (4 rows)
R 10: (3 sc, dec) repeat 6 times [24]
R 11: (2 sc, dec) repeat 6 times [18]
R 12: (1 sc, dec) repeat 6 times [12]
R 13: 12 sc
Stuff the head.
R 14: (1 sc, inc) repeat 6 times [18]
R 15: (2 sc, inc) repeat 6 times [24]
R 16: (3 sc, inc) repeat 6 times [30]
R 17-22: 30 sc (6 rows)
Stuff the body.
Divide the legs
Sc in the 16th st of R 22.
This sc is the first st of the first leg (left leg).
Continue working on the first leg (left leg):
R 23-24: 15 sc (2 rows)
R 25: (1 sc, dec) repeat 5 times [10]
R 26: BLO: (dec) repeat 5 times [5]
R 27: BLO: 5 dec (5)
Fasten off, leaving a long tail.
Stuff the leg.
Using a yarn needle, weave the yarn tail through the front loop of each remaining st and pull tight to close.
Second leg (right leg)
Rejoin the gray yarn to the 1st back unworked st of R 22.
This sc is the first st for the second leg (right leg).
Continue working the second leg (right leg) the same way as the first leg (left leg), in R 23-27.
Using a yarn needle, sew the between the legs closed.
Ears
Make 2 in white and 2 in gray.
R 1: 5 sc in magic ring [5]
R 2: (inc) repeat 5 times [10]
R 3: (1 sc, inc) repeat 5 times [15]
R 4: (2 sc, inc) repeat 5 times [20]
Fasten off and cut the yarn on the white ear, do not cut the yarn on the grey one.
Edging: place the white ear on gray ear and sc together.
White: The stitches only through back loop.
Gray: Go through both loops.
Nose
With gray yarn:
R 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]
R 2-3: 6 sc (2 rows)
R 4: (2 sc, inc) repeat 2 times [8]
R 5: 8 sc
R 6: (3 sc, inc) repeat 2 times [10]
R 7-8: 10 sc (2 rounds)
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Arms (make 2)
With gray yarn:
R 1: 5 sc in magic ring [5]
R 2: (inc) repeat 5 times [10]
R 3-8: 10 sc (6 rows)
Stuff the arm
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Tail
With grey yarn:
Make 6 ch.
R 1: 1 sl st in second ch from hook, 4 sl st [5]
