Materials:

• Yarn of your choice (I used so crafty baby yarn).
Crochet hook – 5mm.
Tapestry needle.
Stitch markers.
Safety eyes – 18mm.
Stuffing.

Abbreviations:

MR: magic ring
St: stitch
Slst: slip stitch
Sc: single crochet
Ch: chain
Dc: double crochet
FLO: front loop only
Tc: triple crochet
Inc: increase
Dec: decrease
FO: fasten off

Arms (make 2)

R1. 5 sc in MR (5)
R2. 5 increase (10)

Heart on giraffe’s back

Make a MR.
Chain 2- keeping the MR loose (see pictures)
3 dc into MR
1 tr into MR
3 dc into MR
Ch 2
Slst into MR
Tighten MR (see pictures).
Leave long tail for sewing.

Assembly

Sewing head to body.
Sew between rows 18-19 of the head all round.
Firmly stuff the neck before closing to prevent a wobbly head.

Sewing nose to head.
Sew the top between rows 8-9.
Sew the bottom between rows 16-17.
Make sure the sides are aligned with the outside of the eyes.
Make sure to stuff before closing fully.

Sewing ears to head.
Sew the ears between rows 7-8 and 9-10.
Make as many stitches as you feel are needed to ensure the ears are nice and secure.
Sewing horns to head.
Sew horns between rows 4-5 and 6-7.

Sewing heart to the giraffe’s back
For this giraffe, I have sewn the heart between rows 13-17 (you can place the heart wherever you prefer).
Sew through the outline of the heart.

Now let’s make a nice bag for the cute giraffe. You can leave it out if you don’t want to. This is optional.

Slst, chain 35 (or however long you would like the bags strap to be).
Place the chain around (giraffe’s neck and under her arm, slst into 7th stitch of 9th row on opposite side of the bag.
