Abbreviations:
R = row
mc = magic circle (magic ring)
ch = chain
st = stitch
sl st = slip stitch
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
TrBo = treble crochet bobble – work 4 unfinished treble crochet in one stitch (you will have 5 loops on hook). Yarn over and pull through all loops

Tail
Attach the brown yarn to the back between R 5 and R 6.
Make 8 ch.
R 1: From the 2nd ch from hook: 7 inc, sl st
F. o. and weave in ends.
Free crochet banana pattern
Banana
Stuff lightly as you go.
With yellow yarn:
Make 18 ch.
R 1: From the 2nd ch from hook: 2 sl st, 13 hdc, 2 sl st (17)
R 2-11: Turn, 1 ch, 2 sl st, 13 hdc, 2 sl st (10 rows)
Fold the piece in half and work through both sides: 2 sl st, (2 sc, dec)* 3, 1 sc, 2 sl st.
F. o. and weave in ends.

Bottom tip
Attach the green yarn to the bottom, work 7 sc around.
Cut the yarn and leave a tail. Pull the magic circle closed through front loops.
Weave in the ends inside.
Top tip
Attach the dark brown yarn to the top, work around:
R 1-3: 7 sc (3 rows)
Cut the yarn and leave a tail. Pull the magic circle closed through front loops.
F. o. and leave a long tail for sewing.

Assembly
Sew the ears to the head around rows 15-17.
Embroider eyes and nose on the monkey’s face using a black floss.
Attach a keychain to the monkey’s head.
Sew the banana to the chain of the keychain.
